Le camion MAN 5 t 4x4 was the standard medium cargo et troop carrier of the Bundeswehr until the mid-70s, when second generation camions 5 t became available et gradually replaced the earlier types. Bundeswehr Panzergrenadier companies had two camion 5 t cargo, one in the maintenance platoon, et the other in the service platoon. The service platoon also operated a 5 t MAN field kitchen avec 1.5 t cargo trailer (ROCO 328). The model was sprayed in Bundeswehr Gelboliv (RAL 6014), mixed avec 30% white to take the scale effect into account. Raised detail was then shaded et drybrushed using Jim Gordon’s weathering technique.

Évaluation

• The model has only 17 parts et it is sold fully assembled, ready to play. Modélistes sérieux will take the camion apart, remove flash et glue the parts together permanently.
• Much detail: engine grille, hinges, lettering on fire-extinguisher stowage boxes, et other small parts are fun to paint.
• Compatible avec HO scale model railroad equipment et figurines by Märklin, ROCO, Faller, Pola, Preiser, et Noch.

• Noticeably flash around stowage boxes, muffler, front bumper et mud guards.
• There is no holder de la plaque d’immatriculation d’arrière in the kit.
• Cab doors do not open.
• The canvas cab cover may be removed, but there is no kit part représentant the folded cover. This part may be scratchbuilt.
• The windshield foldes down, but the hinge parts are noticeably out of scale.
• Windshield wipers et rearview mirrors are not included in the kit. ROCO offers several véhicule upgrade kits which include such small parts.
• Decals are not included, they need to be purchased separately.

Le camion MAN 5 t de chez ROCO is an excellent model pour collectionistes, dioramistes et joueurs de guerre. The véhicule may be detailed further by adding rearview mirrors et other small parts.
